Happy Holidays!

Christmas parade

December 7th, 2008

We went to the Christmas parade in downtown Lawrence and had a lot of fun. My friend lives where they were lining up, so we could just hang out and take pictures of the animals and the people around there. Here are a couple of pictures. I’ll add more soon.

Snow

November 30th, 2008

This morning we woke to a blanket of snow. It sounds like I should be writing this at Christmas, not Thanksgiving. Oh well, it’s pretty! I guess everyone will be in the holiday spirit now. So hope you all enjoy shopping for your families. My dogs weren’t for sure about the snow.

Hi all,

This blog has moved, it might look a little different. I’m still working out the bugs. Thanks for viewing.

Fall Leaves

October 26th, 2008

We went for a drive today to see if there were any leaves changing. They weren’t as far along as I had hoped. But we found a country road that had some leaves changing with some nice lighting. Here’s a picture.

Zombie Walk

October 23rd, 2008

We went downtown to see the zombie walk. It was a lot of fun! It’s amazing the costumes those people come up with. I visited with a young lady and her Dad about newspaper stuff. She was there to interview some zombies for the high school newspaper. I hope she got one of them to talk. There was a lot of moaning and calling for brains. LOL

Here’s a few pictures.

I visited Toronto lake for some camping last weekend. It was a fun time. They had so much flooding this summer there wasn’t much foliage around the lake. Here’s a couple pictures from the trip.

This past weekend I got to go to the dedication of the Friesen Center for the visual arts at Hesston College. This is the new art center that has moved from the basement of the girls dorm to it’s own building. It was named after Paul Friesen who has taught there since the 50s. He taught me in an advanced ceramics class.

It was good to see such an advance and commitment to art at Hesston College. Although it was nice to study art in the same building that I lived in - I didn’t even have to put on shoes to go to class. They also had to tear down my old darkroom to build the building, but now the students will have a state of the art building to learn art.

Congratulations to Paul Friesen and Hesston College!

I am saddened to watch the new episode of the last season of ER. It’s been one of my favorite shows for a long time. I have a feeling it’s going to be a sad season.

In between the tears, I got the my drawings back up. I separated art work and photography pages so they would be a little more specific. I didn’t want the pages to be so huge with images that it took a while to download.

I have a few new drawings that I’ll have to put up in the next few weeks.
